Get to know Radcliffe & Rust, your local Estate Agents in Cambridge

You liked the home page so much you thought you’d find out more… welcome to the About Us page!

Radcliffe & Rust is a truly independent estate agents based in Cambridge that offers residential sales & lettings services, together with advice on new home developments, planning matters and a host of other aspects covering residential property.

Headed by David Radcliffe & Richard Rust, both born and bred in villages just outside Cambridge, they combine a passion for residential property with a strong understanding of Cambridge City and the surrounding towns & villages.

“We opened this business in September 2011 and from the start the whole point was to run an agency that truly delivered on its promises. The industry, at times, has a bad reputation and although we aren’t going to change the industry as a whole, we can ensure that the service we provide is delivered to the highest standard and integrity.

This partnership is run on good staff training, customer service and an eye for detail.”

It is important for everyone at Radcliffe & Rust to know that they have done well by their customer; It is a small team but a big brand! This means that every customer should feel cared for personally but also be safe in the knowledge that they will be getting expert advice and exceptional marketing for what is likely their biggest asset.

The team has experience in residential sales, lettings, development, new homes, buy to lets, mortgages and how to treat customers well. Of course this industry is about bricks and mortar, but most importantly it is about people, the relationships we have with one another and ensuring that you receive the best service and best value for money.

David Radcliffe

David Radcliffe

Director

David is one of the directors and has therefore been at Radcliffe & Rust since the beginning.

David started work within estate agency with Connells in, where he dealt with predominantly second hand and new home sales. In 2008 David moved into mortgage advice, furthering his rounded knowledge of estate agency.

Opening the doors to Radcliffe & Rust, in 2011, was a very proud moment for David & his business partner, Richard; even if it wasn’t the most glamorous of locations. “We had the building injected to stop the damp, laid the floor, painted all the walls and ceilings and pretended we knew what we were doing with making a network for the computers. The unit was cold, sinking into the ground and a bit dark and dingy… but it was home, it helped us get off the ground and eventually move to our brand new office further up Newmarket Road!”

Early in 2019 the team moved to Beacon Rise, a far warmer and brighter place to work from.

David knows that the best way to succeed in business is to work hard and have a good relationship with his customers “seeing all of our customers’ reviews is amazing, it really spurs the team on and I thank everyone that has given us their business so far and allowed Radcliffe & Rust to grow and succeed”.
At home David loves nothing more than to curl up with a good book or go for country walks with the family… something made perhaps a little harder with the arrival of his first child George, born earlier in 2019. Head of the family Frank, the ginger cat, is still unsure about the latest arrival.

Richard Rust

Richard Rust

Director

Born and bred locally in Reach, schooled in Swaffham Prior, Bottisham Village College and Long Road Sixth Form College, Richard really is a local to the Cambridge area.

As the son of a, now-retired, local property developer, Richard has been in and around the property/new homes scene pretty much his whole life and has always known he would be involved in property one way or another.  Since working as an estate agent in Cambridge, for the first time in 2003, he has always had aspirations of one day running his own estate agency. On September 26th 2011 those aspirations became a reality.

Apparently buying or selling a property is the second most stressful thing that someone can do. Richard disagrees, he is friendly, easy to get along with and will take the stress out of moving by giving open honest advice and keeping you informed throughout the whole process.

Richard doesn’t really get stressed about anything… ever, and this really rubs off on his customers. Afterall if he’s not worried then why should you be?

When Richard isn’t at work he enjoys trying to play five a side football on Monday evenings, making delicious meals “from scratch” (he likes to emphasise that part), spending time with friends and family and lay ins. Something made slightly more difficult these days since the arrival of Amalie, his first child.

Richard says,

“Being an estate agent doesn’t feel like a job. It’s just something I really enjoy. I can get bored fairly easily and have a fairly shocking attention span, being an estate agent certainly helps with that. I don’t think I’ve ever had the same day twice in my whole career. I’m lucky to do what I do. Dealing with people and property is just something I enjoy and if you’re lucky enough to work in something that you’re truly passionate about it helps you perform to your full potential”

Together, Radcliffe and Rust serve as expert estate agents in Cambridge, providing a wealth of experience, knowledge and assistance to anyone looking for their next move.

Josephine Minei

Property Manager

Jo… what can we say about Jo?

Jo started with us back in winter of 2020, after coming from the motor industry. She has years of customer experience under her belt and previous property industry experience. When Jo isn’t organising boiler repairs or leaky taps, she enjoys food. Pasta to be precise; her Italian roots run deep, with her father being from Rome and if she could, she would eat pasta for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No wonder why she always complains of her clothing being snug.

When Jo isn’t eating, she enjoys going out with friends, feeding the cats near the office and holidays. Jo is planning on several holidays next year to make up for not having been abroad during covid. Her favourite destination is Corfu. She enjoys the weather, the beaches and obviously the food. Jo is currently in the process of buying her first home in Girton which she’s really excited about.

2022 is looking like it will be a busy year for her.
